Owner and CEO

Brenda Copeland, Florida native and mother of one daughter, began her career in the Behavioral Health field in 1994. She became a Certified Addiction Counselor, II in 1997 and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in 2007, after going through her own divorce and realizing the lack of marriage and family counseling services in her community. Her extensive knowledge and unique insight are direct results of her vast experience gained through a variety of positions held throughout her career. Ms. Copeland has held the titles of Substance Abuse Counselor, Teacher for children with Severe Emotional Disturbances, Program Manager for a TANF program, UM/UR Manager, Outpatient Therapist, Auditor, ACT Team Leader, and now CEO. From a large family herself, Ms. Copeland has always believed that "working with families is the best way to provide a holistic approach to helping individuals."

The Counseling and Training Center is a private, CARF accredited organization that provides behavioral health and substance abuse counseling services for children, adolescents, adults, and their families.

CTC was born from a desire to provide quality services, focusing on the family system; as well as a response to limited community-based services in the Central Georgia Region.

Our mission is to serve individuals and families that are in need, and to provide unique services based on social and cultural factors, while promoting a safe therapeutic environment where families can flourish.

Outpatient services are community based - services are provided largely in the home, school and community setting. CTC staff will come to you!
Services are designed to be easily accessible, yet non-intrusive.

Our team is made up of Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Certified Addiction Counselors, experienced and trained Family Consultants, as well as Nurses and a Psychiatrist who use Evidenced Based Practices - techniques that have been proven successful. Strategies are integrated and include structural family therapy, play therapy, rational-emotive behavioral therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

CTC plans to expand to include Adolescent Day Treatment (Substance Abuse) and accept Traditional Medicaid coverage.

Check back with us - these expansions are coming soon!
